Bleacher Report Wiki, Football, WWE, NBA, NFL and Net Worth

When it comes down to the world of sport, Bleacher Report, or B/R as it is called is one of the top sources for anything relating to the industry.

B/R

In a Forbes interview,  the President of B/R, Rory Brown described the audience of the sports media outfit as a new generation of sports fans that didn’t watch SportCentre at night. He also described them as an audience whereby both sports and music appeal to when they both meet.

This audience is one of the pillars of Bleacher Report’s success since its inception in 2007 till date. Ever since it started out it has grown from just being a sports-based blog into becoming a major brand which Turner Broadcasting System bought for $175 million in 2018.

Bleacher Report Wiki and History

The company was founded by four high school friends who shared the same interests in sports, David Finocchio, Alexander Freund, Bryan Goldberg, Mike Denevi, and Dave Nemetz in 2007. They started out in an office space in Menlo, California which cost $650 a month at that time.

By 2008, they were able to complete their round of Series A funding in February 2008. In their Series B funding, they were able to raise $3.5 million in October 2008.

On August 6, 2012, it was announced that B/R had been sold to Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) for a sum of $175 million.

Bleacher Report

Finocchio remained as CEO until 2014 but returned in 2016. He left the position once again in February 2019 while Howard Mittman took over but due to concerns regarding lack of diversity in the company he resigned in June 2020. Lenny Daniels, who is the President of Turner Sports took over as CEO following the resignation of Mittman.
